ABOUT US
Aleworks began as a home brewing hobby which evolved into the idea of turning our passion into a business and in 2020 we began the search for a home for our brewery.
As lovers of both English Cask ale and modern craft ale it is our ambition to combine the two to create a modern take on traditional British brewing.

In recent years the Cask ale industry has been in serious decline, this is a beautiful English tradition that we can't just sit back and watch dissolve in to the history books.

Cask ale at its prime and allows the beers flavours to shine with a freshness you cant recreate.

We aim to bring the distinctive new world flavours served in the traditional cask format from our brewery based on the beautiful Knepp Castle estate in West Sussex

We were delighted to be invited to speak with Steve Duke on The Factory Next Door Podcast about all things Cask.

In the interview you'll hear why and how we started Aleworks Brewing Co as well as a discussion on the future of Cask ale in the UK
THE OWNERS
Liam and Harriet are partners in life and business.

Both born and raised in West Sussex with a deep appreciation for our beautiful local area and lovers of great beer, good food and dogs.

Liam first started brewing Ales as a home brew hobby which quickly developed in to more of an obsession than hobby, after many batches of beer brewed on the kitchen stove we decided to put our obsession to good use and founded Aleworks Brewing Company.
THE BREWERY
In January 2021 we began the renovation of what is now our brewery, the building had originally been a milking parlour.
The renovation took around 18 months with us having to completely rip out the old parlour before we could begin fitting the space out to be a fully operational brewery.

We managed to brew our first batch of beer (Into The Wild) in October of 2022

Since that first brew we have been running on full steam.
